Re: Wiper ground wire.

Hello; I 'restored' my TC exu starting in 1975 and completing it in 1985, so I have not looked at the wiper wires carefully since then. What I remember is that the wire exited the dash on the left side and went into the vertical post of the windshield near the bottom and then went up and around the ...

Re: TC body panel fitting

I restored my car, a 49 TC exu, from 1975 to 1985, before any books were written on the subject that I could find. That said The measurements I made of the body and attach points were transferred to the 2x4 substructure then the ash timbers and I started there . The running boards were put on the bo...

Re: Horn Button function & originality

You may know this already but the 'D' stands for 'dip' and the
'H' stands for 'high'. The lever below changes from D to H. But you probably knew this already.

Re: MG-TC 'original' tools

Thanks for the replys. The tools will stay with the car as I think they should. No matter who gets the cars that will be impressed.

Re: Fuel pump not delivering

Mark; Assuming you are using the original type S U pump, is the diaphragm still good or did you replace the pump with rebuilt or new. When I started this in 1973 I bought a rebuild kit from Moss and rebuilt mine and it worked for awhile. I am not sure they are available any more. If the thing clicks...

MG-TC 'original' tools

I have had my TC exu since 1973. In 1975 I the restoration and completed it in 1985. I have driven it 13,000 miles, Indy 96, Watkins Glen in 98 (I think) and St. Paul in 03. Except for the Indy trip it has been driven to destination. The car was originally in Hot springs, SD (a veterans town). I bou...

Re: Hood er Bonnet gasket fastiner

Julian; I restored my TC 1975 to1985 and have driven it 12,000 miles since. I used 'tacks' to fasten the rubber gasket to the wood where the rear edge of the bonnet rests. Tacks come in a number of lengths and the wood you are nailing into has a depth of about 3/4" as I remember. Use a 5/16 or a 3/8...

Re: TC Radiator hose leaks

Jeff;
I would be suspicious of the water pump malfunction, the suggestion of a bad thermostat or a corroded lower metal pipe are also top considerations.
I would seem that a evaluation of all the components is in order.

Good luck, Joel.

Re: Hub steel plug

Tim;
From the frame up catalog the piece you want (I think) is part number MPL050 listed on page 38 of their catalog(11th edition).

Kameron;
I have just found your ad.
Have you sold the EXU bumpers yet, and if not do you have some pictures?
I am interested.

Re: Hub steel plug

Tim; I have a 49 EXU that I restored starting in 1975 and finished 1985. My car's hubs have the plug, three of them fit and tighten snuggly and one of them screws in but becomes loose as it reaches the 'top' of the threads. It stays in, maybe held in by the hub. I have not explored the cause and hav...
