Re: MG TC Restoration

In the UK you can be fined and have points added to your on you licence, 3 points for each affence. When you have 12 points you loose your licence for 12 months or more. Each set of points can stay with you for 3 years. All of that is not the real punishment, your annual insurance can cost double or...

Re: MG TC Restoration

Hi Steve, things are the same the world over, when the roads are quite we do the same. On our minor country roads you can legally do 50/60mph and the roads are not straight but with great sweeping bends and curves, ..... real driving roads. These are roads that were about when the TC's were new and ...

Re: MG TC Restoration

Many thanks guys for all the suggestions and opinions. Much to ponder on.

Hi Tom, you will find that speeds in the UK are greater than in the US, most duel carriageways and motorways are 60/70mph.

Many thanks again.

MG TC Restoration

I have just purchased a 1949 MG TC and I am planning a full restoration when I eventually receive delivery from New York. I have decided to have the engine rebuilt and have a supercharger fitted along with a ford type 9 gearbox. The steering will have a VW steering box fitted to help overcome "wonde...

Re: 1949 TC gap between the running boards and rear wings.

Hi Steve, any advice is good advice if taken with a good heart, many thanks. I have restored, in fact it is only just finished, a MGTF 1500 which was shipped from Arizona May 2016, so I have a little experience working on these cars, however there are a few differences hence the questions. I will pr...

Re: more TC 6905

Hi as mentioned in earlier posts, I am about to start a TC restoration. I noticed you have a supercharger fitted, and it is my intention to do the same. Two questions, does the supercharger make A REAL DIFFERENCE, secondly which make of supercharger would you recommend?

Re: 1949 TC gap between the running boards and rear wings.

Hi the reason I ask is that I have a 1955 MG TF and there is no gap at all. I am awaiting the delivery of the TC from New York, so the restoration probably will not start until the winter sets in here in Scotland, in October. I am generally asking questions where I notice a difference, so I have all...

1949 TC gap between the running boards and rear wings.

Hi I am due to start a rebuild/restoration of a 1949 TC. Does anyone know what the gap should measure between the running boards and rear wings.

The reason I ask is that I also own a 1500 TF and there is no gap between the rear wings and the running boards.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Re: more TC 6905

Hi I am new to the forum, I have a 1955 TF 1500 and a 1949 TC. My first question is I am about to fully restore the TC, from the ground up and I will supercharge the TC when I get that far. What supercharger would you recommend and why? My final question is, should there be a gap between the running...
