Re: TC Generator Dimensions?
Steve, I was thinking about a TC generator because the drive and cable would fit the back of the generator with the factory cable fitting the original Jaeger gauge.

Re: TC Generator Dimensions?
Duncan, thanks for your input. Here's the basis of my question, I have a '49 TC with a Lotus 1600 twin cam engine and would like to be able to use a generator that has the tach drive at the rear plate. The generator on the Lotus engine does not have provisions to attach a tach drive to it. Because t...

TC Generator Dimensions?
Can someone measure a TC generator for me? I'm looking for the overall length and the distance between the front and rear aluminum end plates. I have a Lucas generator which does not have the tach drive adaptor on the rear plate and am interested in knowing the overall length to see if a stock TC ge...

Re: GPS Speedo & Tach Info
Jonny P, that's exactly what I was looking for, to retain the original gauges. I'll have the speedo restored by FTFU here in the states and contact Speedograph- Richfield for the convertor gearbox. Next is to figure out what can be done to retain the original tach that I'm not able to drive from the...

Re: TC EXU Mirror
I swear my car is haunted! I bought a second reproduction interior mirror which seemed fine until a few days ago when the screw that holds the mirror head in place loosened allowing the mirror head to slip and almost fall off the mounting stand. My car is an EXU so I ordered that particular mirror b...

GPS Speedo & Tach Info
Hello all, I need some help. I have a '49 TC with a Lotus Elan twin cam engine and gearbox and am hoping I can retain the original Jaeger gauges but don't know what options I might have. The cable driven tach would be ok but there isn't room for the tach drive because the new engine mount is in the ...

Re: TC EXU Mirror
I don't know if FTFU has the mirror reproduced or if they use Moss's mirror. I would think he just sells what he gets from Moss. Because the replacement mirror is adjustable (slightly but enough) I didn't disassemble it so I don't know what's in there, I'm just glad I can adjust it. Someone else men...

Re: TC EXU Mirror
Doug sent me a new mirror which seems to be fine. I didn't take it apart to see what was missing from the first one. I'm just happy I have a mirror I can adjust.

Re: TC EXU Mirror
Here's a photo of the interior mirror completely apart. There doesn't seem to be anything that would help the mirror head stay in the needed position. I spoke to Doug at FTFU and he will be sending me a replacement mirror.

Re: TC EXU Mirror
IMG_8257.jpg It seems I'm lacking a wave washer. As far as over tightening the acorn nut, I could have but as soon as it has any pressure it starts to return to the straight ahead position, while the head is loose enough to droop down. I bought the mirror from FTFU so I'll contact Doug for his inpu...

TC EXU Mirror
This may be the most lame question ever! I feel lame asking it but I can't figure out what's going on. I bought a reproduction interior mirror which is a copy of a DEMSO mirror but for the life of me I can not figure out how to adjust it! I loosen the Acorn nut which allows the mirror head to swivel...

Re: TC Front License Plate Angle Fix
That's a good idea but I would rather look at the car with a straight mounted plate. So I'll figure out what I'll do then drive within the speed limit. Yea right! Ha!

Re: TC Front License Plate Angle Fix
Thanks for your response and input. I think the license plate mounting was changed from the TA to TC as my valance has the 2 holes (1/4") drilled with captive nuts welded to the back side. I have small 1/4" ID aluminum tubing that I'll use to make the spacers, unless someone with a TC responses with...

TC Front License Plate Angle Fix
The position of the front license plate holes in the front valance are angled downward causing the plate to be on a downward angle not 90 degrees. What's the key to getting the plate 90 degrees? Is there a beveled spacer that fits between the plate and valance? If there isn't a factory part availabl...

Re: TC Interior Patterns
Robert,
Thanks for your kind offer to borrow your interior pieces. Fortunately I located a complete set a few miles from my house so shortly I'll be going over to the fellow MG TC owners house to get his. Thanks again for your generous offer.

TC Interior Patterns
Does anyone know where I might be able to find patterns of the numerous interior pieces? When I bought my car it was completely apart and didn't have much of the interior. I'm not using the factory seat so I'm interested in the door panels, kick panels and the rear area pieces. Any ideas? Thanks!

The cover thickness is approx 1/8". I don't know what their original purpose was but I think they do change the side look of the car. Usefulness I don't know, ascetically I like them!
