Re: Bottom windscreen brackets
Hi- Been a while since I've posted anything. New trim parts are a fitment issue with every restoration I've done or been involved with. Maybe you've already tried this. When I last rebuilt my TC windshield frame, I had all screws loose around the perimeter of the frame and tightened them gradually g...

Re: TC Hubs Switched?
Maybe easier to remember this way: Near and Off Side The horse's left is his near side, the right his off side. We lead horses, do up their tack, and mount from the near side. Believe it or not, this all goes back to the days of wearing swords on horseback. Since a sword is usually hung from the lef...

Re: Pittman arm alignment
Hello Mark: If you have not sorted this already, I refer you to the Instruction Manual, aka "The Brown Book" page 38, second para from the bottom of the page. If you have a mark on the drop arm, that surface should be downward facing, and line up as you noted. The final para states why this is impor...

Re: TC headlight stone guards
I apologize for further addendum- I used a bit of stainless safety wire to secure the guard to the bottom clip so I wouldn't loose the guard while driving.

Re: TC headlight stone guards
Adendum- I did not need to drill any holes. The guard was supplied with clips that I bent to fit between the shell and the rim securing the guard so I can remove and have it stock without alteration.

Re: TC headlight stone guards
Hi- I wanted a chrome wire mesh stone guard after suffering the casualty of my foglamp lens and the co$t of an original replacement. I found one that looks convincingly vintage at Lowbrowcustoms.com an off road motorbike parts supplier. I'm pleased with the price, quality and fast service. I realize...

Re: Changing radiator hose
Hello: I'm definitely in the "remove the elbow" camp. The gasket under the elbow might not survive removal, so either buy or cut your own new one out of gasket stock. Clean all the threads for the bolts (and studs & nuts if applicable). With the elbow off, my order of reassembly is: top hose clamp l...

Re: 1948 MGTC
Hello: Over the years I've restored one TD and three TC's with Moss interior kits. If there was a five-star rating, I would give them 4 1/2. This is in light of the lower cost for the decent quality. If you go with Moss, then count on making adjustments for good side-panel fit, especially on the poi...

Re: Peter Edney/XPAG Developments
I debated with myself about chiming in. In my dealings with Peter I have always received what I ordered, and the quality was as advertised. I think I've done about $7,000 USD with him over 2018 to 2020. Communication with him regarding order status was poor starting in 2020. COVID probably has somet...

Hello: Beverly Hills Car Club has a "T" series car listed as a 1947 TC, but it's on trunnions, has a pre-war firewall, and it is adorned with pre-war miscellaneous bits and pieces like the steering wheel and electrical bits. The spare wheel looks like a side laced item, the rest are TC wheels, I thi...

Re: Martin Johnson's 1948 MGTC
It is Peter Rabbit, in fact. He is brass and was mounted to a wooden wedge and used as a doorstop, then tossed in the tip by my former employers. I rescued him, had him chromed and now is graces my rad cap. Thanks for asking.

Re: 30 mph light
Only for reference: TC6219 No "Made in England" tag on bulkhead Speedometer in MPH with 30 light connection post and thumb screw 30 light on dash, not working, no internals when I obtained the car, although I think I could fabricate one. I'm interested to see what the bulb holder looks like- I'm gue...
