Re: TF fuel pump

Hi Tom, My reason for asking this question is due to a long running problem with my Carbs. Without going through the history of how I have tried to sort it- running rich, I am exploring the possibility of the fuel pump contributing. The car was returned to the UK having been extensively restored inc...

Re: After market TC brake cables

Bought mine from the Octagon Club. Both correct. Perhaps explore that avenue and return those from Abingdon.

TF fuel pump

When I imported my TF from the US during the restoration it has had a non standard fuel pump fitted. I wish to return it to an original- SU pump. So a picture, if available, of its location/fitting would be helpful if anyone has one please.

Wheel tracking/alignment

Anyone used or experienced with the gunson trakrite g4008 wheel alignment gauge in setting up wire wheels on in my case a TC. Gunson advise that they are suitable but being eternally sceptical thought I`d ask.

Loss of spark

Drive it day threw up a problem which I`ve 2 weeks to resolve before a planned tour of South and wet Ireland. So the problem is the loss of spark. The story so far. After the Isle of Man national I started to have a back fire both through the exhaust and the carbs. With a "challenging" tour shortly ...

Re: Spot Lights

I agree Ray and inline fusing is happening at the moment . Finding shorts not the easiest of tasks without an insulation tester as I`m sure you are well aware. As there are two spots first will isolate and fuse each individually -that I think the quickest method.

Spot Lights

I`ve two 45W spot lights fitted to my TF1500 ( they were there on purchase of the car). I`ve two questions. When on, even with engine running, they show a maximum discharge on the ammeter. By implication I`ve a short in the circuit. Whist it blew a 25amp fuse the 35amp survived strangely. So questio...

Re: Su Super dry kits

To John and JonnyP. Looking at the EBay listing etc for the Danbury Hydraulics it shows no listing for the TF1500 -1 1/2 SUs Vitron Kits so have contacted them direct. However had a long conversation with Burlin. They made the following comments which have been very helpful. 1) Cars with traditional...

Re: Su Super dry kits

Thank you John. An interesting insight into your experience. It`s a problem with the carbs leaking over the exhaust making fire an ever present possibility. Obviously I need to sort it before a catastrophic failure. Perhaps I`ll try fitting one carb with vitron and one with super dry as an experimen...

Su Super dry kits

With summer tours on the horizon and my TF1500 carbs "weeping" after only just over 5000 miles since they were rebuilt am looking to rebuild with the new supposed "super dry" kits. Anyone any experience with them please? Are you pleased and do they actually work? Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks Mick. Did see those. Will have to invest and check out. Wasn`t sure whether they`d lock in place or perhaps vibrate open.

Re: Safety catches

Thanks Steve. I had no problems since the rebuild until an "episode" last summer ( My fault -don`t ask) and after sorting now have concern over it fitting neatly on the second notch. So as a precaution think I`ll fit something like your suggestion.
