Re: TC Front End Improvements-Handling

I would be interested to hear from any member in UK who has put Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 radials on standard TC wire wheels and what radial tubes they are using. Although 155/70/19R tyres are available for the likes of the BMW i3 I have yet to source suitable radial tubes. I would like to give this ...

1947 TC slow running cable KNOB

Looking for the knurled black knob that fits the TC slow running cable.
I have a good condition cable but just missing the knob.

Re: TCs with twin HS4 SUs

Thanks for all who replied to my query, not sure which route to take at the moment. In the meantime I have fitted a couple of cone 'Mini' filters. Img_8831sm.jpg Pretty sure these will not fit under the bonnet but they'll be OK to 'run in' the engine. What I would ideally like is a hybrid TD Mkll al...

Re: TCs with twin HS4 SUs

Hi Steve,
I didn't realise these are available from MOSS (at a price!).
My question now is, if you fit these to a TC do you have to modify the radiator support bar and if so how?
There doesn't appear to be enough room for the front filter can.

Re: TCs with twin HS4 SUs

Hi Steve,
That is similar to what PO has fitted, but the bottom of the RH filter has been squashed to extinction to get it to fit under the bonnet. I was hoping for a better solution, like someone who has modified an aluminium intake manifold.

TCs with twin HS4 SUs

I would be interested to hear from members who have successfully been able to fit air filter(s) to twin HS4 SU carbs.
My XPAG was fitted with twin HS4s when I purchased it but the air filters were very much of a 'bodge'.
I am looking for an elegant solution please.

Wanted TC bottom LH door hinge ...FOUND

I need the BOTTOM LH door hinge plates for an MG TC 1948 as I appear to have two RH hinges fitted.
I think I am right in saying that TA and TC door hinges are identical.

Re: TC Rear Inner Wheel Arch Fixing

I too am struggling to build my TC tub with only a few timber parts replaced. At the moment my outriggers protrude into the wheel arch by about 1/2" but I'm nowhere near achieving the correct dimensions for the door opening yet. I have the 'original' rubbers and they are 1/4" thick. This is the car'...

Re: MG TC bulls horns dimensions

The metal at the bottom of my original sidescreen box had rotted away at some time and been repaired with a riveted section so I am surprised that a ply box would last. As for fitting metal at a later stage the top edge of the box wraps around the back axle cover frame. The metal actually passes bet...

Re: MG TC bulls horns dimensions

It's looking good Ian, I like the turnbuckles on the door straps and I will do the same when I have found the ones that I have temporarily misplaced. I don't know where you are based but NTG services in UK list both of the Sherrell books, pricey but invaluable. I made my sidescreen box metal panel b...

Re: MG TC bulls horns dimensions

Ian do you mean you are missing the sidescreen box metal panel, as shown on page 172 of TCs Forever? I made up a new metal panel to the dimensions shown in Sherrell, which I found pretty accurate. The new bottom rail dimensions are given at the bottom of page 171. The back end of the body is clamped...

Re: MG TC bulls horns dimensions

Thanks Steve W your dimension at 6.5" agrees with mine now it has been straightened and the overall width is 45.5" per Sherrell. The distance between the forward curved face of the brace across the back axle cover and the underside of the wheel arch is 5.0". The radius of the bend around the wheel a...

MG TC bulls horns dimensions

Can anyone provide me with a dimensioned drawing of the 'bulls horns' for a TC? I'm pretty sure I have seen this topic before but search does not bring it up for me. Thanks. I am aware that Sherrell's book quotes 45.5" between door pillar mounting points but I have something in excess of that and I ...
