As Tom says taps and dies come in many configurations and classes. I like to use machine taps rather than hand taps as they are designed to not have to do a half a turn then turn the tap backward to break the chip. Hello Chris. The cover of the pump is in the proper position that is where the output pipe connects on a TD. If you are building a concours car I would recommend you find another TC pump body and cover. You will loose points for the wrong pump. The oil filter adapter is the ones I make. Butch Contac...

Hello Chris. As you can see from the attached photo the pump on the left is for a TC. It has a cast in boss that is drilled and tapped to hold the output pipe going to the oil filter. There isn't enough material on a TD pump (the middle pump in the picture) to machine a flat surface and have enough ...
