How much paint to cover a TC?
I am taking my TC down to bare metal all over, and I am wondering about the quantity of paint that it will need to refinish it. I've heard that it is considerable for TCs, as both surfaces of many parts are painted. TCs Forever says that about 12 liters, or 3 gallons of paint are needed. I presume t...

Unknown transmission identification?
Hello all;
I've come across an early transmission (likely pre-war). Can anyone tell what car it is from?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Gearbox: First motion shaft nut removal
I'm having a hard time removing the securing nut (Moss part #440-150) from my TC transmission. It occurs to me to wonder whether or not it is a standard right-hand thread. It looks like a special tool with two opposing teeth was used to put it on. I don't have one of those, but so far all other atte...

Is this a correct oil pickup assembly for a 1948 TC?
I am wondering if some PO swapped the original oil pickup assembly for something else. I attach a couple of pictures.
Can any of you tell me what I have?
Thanks! Michael Whalen

Gearbox cluster shaft locking bolt leak
The transmission of my 1948 TC was leaking at the cluster shaft lock bolt (Moss 440-080), and some P.O. slathered something like epoxy or JB Weld over the bolt head to check the leak! It still is leaking a good deal, and I’ve chipped off all of the epoxy covering to clean the bolt head. The transmis...

Re: What car is this part from?
Thanks for the comment! Could the part be from a pre-war MG of some type?

Can anybody tell me what car this brake line union is from. I know TCs and TD-TFs, and I don't recognize it. Advice appreciated!

How to establish the neutral position for TC shock absorbers
I am reassembling my MGTC shocks, and I am unsure of how to replace the arms and links in the correct neutral position. I neglected to mark the positions of the arms on the shock bodies when I took them apart, and I don’t see pre-existing marks. Here is what I’ve done, after replacing all of the rub...

Front hub grease seal orientation
My question concerns the front hub grease seal, the rubber one that goes on the back side of the hub, against the inner bearing. The seal has a flat face and a contoured face containing a little encircling spring. Which side of the seal goes against the inner wheel bearing, the flat side or the cont...

front wheel bearing assembly
Hi all; I am new to my TC, so I have elementary questions. I'm replacing the front wheel bearings. The front axle spindles are new and unworn. I have new tapered roller bearings, but they are a very tight fit over the axle spindles, so much so that I can't push them on by hand. How much force should...
