Re: There's a right way to do most things

Chip, I don't think it will be up to Mark to pick the number his car is eventually registered under. Just for grins, I've copied the first part of the instruction form for a VIN Verification (California): ***** INSTRUCTIONS FOR VEHICLE VERIFIER PURSUANT TO SECTION 11305 CVC, IT IS AN UNLAWFUL ACT TO...

Re: No apology this time around

Just 2 cents from the distaff side (of David Edgar, TC5108). I don't want to get into the emotional aspects of car history, but I've been a cop for over 25 years and just wanted to pass on some procedural points. It was mentioned that California used numbers other than what was stamped on the frame ...

Re: chassis No.

Mark, I suppose you could do what Rolland did. As all you have right now is a frame and your woodwork of a new tub you will be buying lots of pieces and parts from ebay, swap meets or wherever to complete your buildup. You might find a tub or basket case with an ID plate. Use that number then with t...

Re: chassis No.

I too just did a search on our Yahoo Groups site and while I did not find any reference to Rolland replacing his frame I did find a messages from him when the discussion of there being two TC 0252 (a frame and a tub owned by two different people). Rolland also requested history on his TC 3409 twice....

Re: Here at last

Well I'll be. I just went out to look at my frame number (5108) and discovered my 0 is also of smaller proportions. I never noticed that before. Guess that is normal? Anyone out there with a full size 0? David Edgar, TC 5108 El Cajon, California Mark, I have TC 7670 and just looked at the numbers. F...

Re: Here at last

Mark, Congratulations on finally getting your frame. First of many hurdles to be cleared I am sure. In regard to #, the 0 pictured is of considerable different height than the T, C, 3, 4 and what looks to be a 9. Any one else out there with different size number stamping? Could the 0 have worn out a...
