Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC

Joe,I feel your comments are both unfair and unrelated to anyone else who may have a different view from you. I do not push my views down your throat so don't push yours down mine. My comments is simple. I DO NOT PUT ANY THING ON MY CARS THAT WAS NOT INTENDED. YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU LIKE BUT DON"T MAKE...

Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC

Tony, I was built just east of Oxford (Abingdon) in 1932 and have to admit that I do have a few extra none Oxford bits added over the years...But the important parts are still original and British. As far as I can tell, but will ask my wife tonight, they work very well even for an old fart like me! ...

Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC

Well said Clive,
Why bother to own a MG if you turn it into a modern mass produced car of strange origins. A bit of that and a bit of this from God only knows what! WHY NOT GO OUT AND BUY MODERN IMPORT OR A MGB!

Re: Scuttle and Tool / Battery Box Details

Right on, we have researched this subject the right way, I.e looked at as many of these early cars as we could find and they all have the double weld for the extended four inches.

Re: Scuttle and Tool / Battery Box Details

John the tool box on mine is a WWII ammo box with a single= flat lid also welded. If you have two professional welds down each side of the firewall it is a MGTB tub that was extended by four inches to fit the new TC. Mine is number is number twenty off the line... Parts of that first batch were buil...

Re: TC top frame needed

Try Brown and Gammon in the UK they are your best bet, helped me with my very early 45 TC. Do you have the original frame or any thing of it like the metal struts? If so you can get a replacement made...Side curtains are another matter!

Re: MG show Stoneleigh

Of course it is, its one of several such shows each year in the UK If you are there and have nothing better to do go, you may find a few good items at respectable prices. Do you know how to reach this location? Will you have a car? The latter is the best way to get around and not expensive if you bo...

Re: Another thought on fuel tanks

Hi Carl, Looks like I'm having a busy day on this medium but... Question..A simple one: Why not buy a replacement fuel tank they are around $345 in the UK less when you take off the VAT . I have the supplier who makes to order even in stainless. A lot easier than all this cell stuff! I purchased one...

Re: Front Spindles and Bearing Spacers

Just goes to show that to own a TC you have got to have balls! As far as the pistons are concerned it's all a matter of chance. You may advertise and get six people looking for your item, on the other hand it may have no appeal that week. I advertised an MG item and never got a bite...put it back a ...

Re: Trailer Wanted for TC

I pull a trailer with a variety of MG's on tow with a GMC Jimmy Six and it works very well. No problems in seven years. One recommendation..put on a transmission oil cooler. The idea of driving any T Type more than 100 miles, at my age is out of the question....I also like my wife to come with me, h...
