Hi Gene, it is a nice offer you are making with regard to the ID plate. However, are you sure it is not the ID plate for the chassis I purchased on eBay some time ago? I too would be worried about the loss of strength in the wood frame when using an insert. I have found that drilling out the screw hole in the body timber just enough to reach sound wood and then carefully epoxying a wood dowell into this hole works well. The original type of screw can now be used. ...

Hi Bob, I recently dismantled a 1 1/4" carb that had the float bowl threads stripped. The PO had made a neat and functional repair. Bob, the pushrods from engine # XPAG/TD2/17298 are shorter in length since the adjusting screws are longer in length. This is from page A.32 in the MG MIDGET TD and TF workshop manual. According to the manual, you cannot mix the parts.

Hi Carl, here are the dimensions of the can: Inlet pipe: 2 3/8" ID, 1"long Body: 4 1/2" OD, 8 1/4" long Vents: 1 3/16" X 7/16" with a space of 3/16" between them except along the seamwhere the space is 1 1/4" and 1 7/16" at the carb breather. 19 of them in total.
