Re: Volkswagon steering box conversion
One of the things I like about my TA is the direct steering. 1 1/4 turns from lock to lock.
When you get the rear end hanging out it only takes a twitch of the wheel to bring it back again.

Fun in a field
A well known (in the UK) stunt driver set a time round a simple course using a 2.6 litre AC Ace. Drivers were invited to beat it. This is my effort. I didn't beat it but I did have fun. I did know how to embed youtube on here but I've been to sleep since I learnt so you'll have to make do with a lin...

Re: Some weekend fun.
I'm glad it brought back good memories, Robert.
We do have some great scenery and places. We have some not so good places as well, but we just don't go there.

Here's a short video of last Sunday's run. There is T Type life in the UK.

Reasons for not using the hood, top, roof or whatever you want to call it.
Its spoils the lines of the car
It makes it more difficult to get in and out
It's claustrophobic inside
Visibility is restricted.
Tops are for wimps.
Topless since 1982 apart from one day.

Re: We're off on a short road trip.
Thanks, Gene. We made the trip, not trouble free, but we made it. 382 miles door to door. Clutch adjustment problems delayed us by an hour on the Saturday. The run on the Sunday was trouble free, but a worsening misfire made the journey home on Monday a bit tense. Here's some of our travelling compa...

We're off on a short road trip.
The car is ready, the sun is shining. All we have to do is pack some clothes and drive off. The run is from Scarborough to Morecambe on Sunday. The route hasn't been issued yet but it's about 160 miles and said to be challenging. We like challenging. We're driving down to Scarborough today, doing th...

Re: MG Racing in the 30s, great film
Steve, I know what you mean. So many cars I'd like to have. If only my six numbers would come up. You'll have to console yourself with the fact that the TC is basically 1930s anyway, as it's little changed from the TA & TB. Terry, you are a very bad lad!. You've led me into temptation and I've just ...

Thanks, I enjoy old stuff like that. I wish I'd been around at the right age in the 30s.

We do run out of land quickly here, Gene, so we drive round in circles till we disappear up our own exhaust pipes.

Will you be driving much this year?
I've just been updating the calendar for this year and up to now we'll be taking part in 15 events with the TA. Most are driving events ranging from the short (under 100 mile trips) to the slightly longer (200 -250 miles) One will be a 400 mile weekend. 80 miles to the start, 160 mile trip, and abou...

Re: Gear Oil
I cannot see the point of using anything but what the manufacturer recommends if it's still available, especially when expensive and hard to find parts are concerned.
Using anything else will invalidate the warranty.
