Re: Changing tyres
I went to a hardware store and bought two of the hooked type nail pullers abut 16 inches and cut the hooks off. The other end has a flattened section which I smoothed out. They work great and I change tires on both my wire wheeled TC and MGB. I wouldn't go near a tire shop and let someone put them o...

Re: Needle bearings in a TC steering box
Gene... I found this article on the net and needle bearings are mentioned on page 11 in Italics. http://www.mg-tabc.org/library/Buell-TC-Frontend-2nd-ed.pdf The article is a good read with useful information on the TC front end. I was aware of the use of needle bearings in the king pins. Ill let you...

Re: Needle bearings in a TC steering box
Thanks Gene. With any luck i will see him again in an all Brit. show on the Island and find out what he did. I recall he said the race guys in Calif. did it years ago but I could be wrong which is not an unusual occurrence.

Needle bearings in a TC steering box
Does anyone have experience using needle bearings to replace the bushings between the sector shaft and the steering box on a TC. Met a fellow today who had done this but wondered what the collective wisdom was on the subject.

Re: machining the TC oil pump
Have you tried a machine shop with a milling machine. It will get the surface perfectly flat and then you could do the glass and emery trick.

Re: Gearshift snug placement
I thought the same as you but was informed by Doug Pelton that it sits on top of the chrome cover.
Doesn't look great but but seems to work , much like the rest of a TC.

Re: Floorboards
I made my own and treated them with preservative. The originals were likely multi layered Baltic Birch or similar. Very strong compared to most north American plywood. The ply will likely not rot if left to dry and there is no moisture trapped under the carpets or such. Just my opinion as a wood wor...

Re: Antenna Bumper Saved the Gas Tank
Robert can you tell me what the diameter of the steel is on your bumpers. I have a drawing of them but don't have
the correct size of steel.
I would look for a bent wheel on the opposite side to the bent bumper.
