Re: XPAG Crankshaft
Message text written by Chip Old Just a point - the Pheonix cranks arn't from foundry source - i.e. they are not forged, they are machined out of a solid bar (billet) of steel EN 40 B or equivalent nitridable steel. I'd prefer this manufacturing method to a forged crank from other modern remote sou...

Re: XPAG Crankshaft
How much do the checkbook racers pay for a Phoenix crank? The Moss Motors crank also has a reputation of being unbreakable. I wonder if they are really made by the same foundary. Just a point - the Pheonix cranks arn't from foundry source - i.e. they are not forged, they are machined out of a solid...

Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC
Message text written by Skip Kelsey But to flatly state that if I improve the steering, by installing a Datsun steering box in a TC, then it is no longer an MG is laughable. Hi Skip, Well its a move that always brings tears to my eyes! I was going to keep out of this one (for a change!) -- but how ...

Pistons Required .080 Over
Message text written by "Greaves, Tammy" My motor is apart at a machine shop and the pistons ..or lack thereof..is holding the project up. Unless you are desparate for a few more cc, why not just simply sleeve the block? Clive Sherriff P.S. You mean there IS a Nissan piston that fits??? Wow!!!! Goo...

Re: Hub bearing
Message text written by "Roger Furneaux" My reference books do not cover Japanese, but a 7208 is a THRUST bearing, of the sort found either side of the Crown-wheel (which are 7207, one size down). Roger, you are right, 7208 is an SKF reference number BUT - the KOYO of Japan part # 72088GC3 just mig...

Re: berlinetta
The "Berlin" was a light 4 wheeled horsedrawn carriage of the 19th and early 20th century. It comprised little more than a drivers seat and a small rear seat entered from the rear (the "tonneaue" enterance in fact. - no hood or upper carriage work - and no doors. The term came to be associated with ...

Re: Silverplating Needed - Headlamp Reflect
This is an interesting "solution", but Aluminium is not as good as silver for reflecting light. I've previously compared reflected light intensity of a silvered and an aluminiun (and a chrome) finished reflector with a light meter and the silvered reflector comes out just over 10 percent better than...

Handbrake oilers
Interesting to read Carl's note about his oiler plates possibly being spot welded to the body . But Jack Stehr's later car had screws - see below. Carl, could it be that there really are wood-screws there, under the paint? To add to the detail, I can confirm that these brackets on my original TB bo...

Re: MG Magazine Holiday Special --- Save up to 50% now
Message text written by "Michael Card" MG Magazine may be an admirable publication, but the T-ABC list is not the place to advertise it, or any other commercial activity. Quite agree - otherwise I'd have advertised my UK MG T and MMM restoration services long ago!!! NO seriously!!! - I too do belie...
