Re: XPAG Crankshaft

how much do the checkbook racers pay for a phoenix crank?
Phoenix has a web site with prices...they list a TF crank at 1000 ukp or about $1500 at todays exchange rate...a hundred for shippng and they are less than Moss..............I'd bet Moss gets theirs from Phoenix...

Joe, I would highly recommend you get the bearing with the most balls and get a "sealed" bearing which is packed with grease...don't for get the "sheims"....

Re: TC Turn Signals

Bruce, others in SoCal might reply, but as far as I know these lamps came off of milk/bread trucks in the LA area...extremely difficult to find them. At 'merican swap meets you will find a similar lamp but it is a double back to back type. That is it has a housing that is double thick and arrows on ...

Re: Scuttle and Tool / Battery Box Details

No you are not...the difference between a TA, TB body tub and the TC is at the seat back.....the scuttle, windshield etc are the same...the firewall of course was different as they cutout the TA/TB toolbox and installed the battery and the TC tool box which I understand on the first few was made fro...

Re: Headlights (Plating / Resilvering) of reflectors

We have a similarly made lamp on the Arnolt...it is made by Marchal of France. They are hard to find and expensive becasue they were used on Ferrari's and Maser's. Some folks has successfully pried the folded over metal up enough so that the glass can be removed and the reflector re-silvered, the th...

Isn't Graham-Paige the company that made some large touring cars that looked like locomotives for one of the Hollywood studio's? I saw one on a trailer out in the Central Valley once....a magnificent machine.

Re: Silverplating Needed - Headlamp Reflect

Clive, this is true for fresh silver but Uvira has run test and has curves that show that in a matter of hours/days, the reflectivity of silver falls dramatically as it tarnishes and falls well below that of the glassed in aluminium......hence the long term benefit of this approach. The problem is o...

Re: Silverplating Needed - Headlamp Reflect

Now that we know that Viv modifies his TC's with modern stuff, may I suggest this!! Instead of Silvering, may I suggest "Aluminizing"? I do all my head lights this way in order to improve the reflectivity for safely night driveing. You start off by having your reflectors nickel plated, then you send...

My TA is set up this way, the switch is in the tool box with the terminals covered with rubber boots. It is located so that the pull is straight on, no friction. Might work on the tC too....

Re: WG: front shock absorbers for TA

Wolfgang, if you want real shock absorption on your TA, you would be better off fitting Andre Hartford friction shocks from Sports and Vintage Motors. These are period correct and work much better than the original Luvax. This is what I have on my TA. However if you want the originals, they are very...

Bill, this is the body identification plate...on the TA's they were affixed to the main ash timber under the dash to the left. You should find four holes where it was ...assuming you found it under a seat or somesuch... As to build history, I believe Roger Furneaux on this list has what is left of T...

Manley, these are available as repro's from both Sports & Vintage and Moss/Naylors in England.....Alloy or steel, your choice. If for a Tabc(19" tires), Harry Pyle in Perth has beautiful alloy castings as wing braces for these. I used the standard wing brace on my TA. Its possible that Abingdon Spar...
