Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC
Looks like I've been ousted from my honorary position of Chief Stirrer on the list by Derek Durst. Derek, you have done so well that I am getting pangs of conscience from the M10 stainless steel bolts that I used on my front apron! As for the tapered 1/2 shafts that have removed all vestiges of orig...

Re: Membership distribution
Jim, What about the Southern tip of Africa? We South Africans are quite used to being ignored by the rest of the world but it gets a bit much when you include Oz and leave us out! There are 2 other listers in Cape Town that I know of - Neil Beck and Colin Williams. This would give you 233 or 239 mem...

Re: Carb with stripped threads
Bob, Stripping these threads is a standard problem. Here in Cape Town, "Helicoil" wire inserts with the correct thread (BSF?) are fitted by Link Engineering, a local machining shop. I get them to do do all my carbs before refitting them. I'm sure you'll be able to find some these locally. There is n...

1. I am busy replacing the spindles in the front hubs of both my TCs as per Mike Sherrell's drawing. Can someone tell me what grade steel is recommended for this job? 2. Thanks for the advice about the spacers. I am also fitting tapered bearings. I will take the advice but I think there is a flaw in...

Re: Advice wanted re. TC transmission & rear axle ratio
Carl, Doesn't sound to me like Betsy's got any major problems with her gearbox. I would leave it well alone unless I was pulling it out for some other reason. If this was the case, I would do exactly what has been recommended by the other guys with regard to bearings etc. In addition to the standard...

New Zealand Address
Hello any new Zealand listers, Sorry to use this list for help but Nick who is doing a magnificent job on the panel work of both TCs in my workshop has a domestic problem and urgently needs to phone someone in NZ. He only has a partial address which is something like :- Harold Laughton Clifton 1001 ...
