Re: 1948 tc vin?
Hello all, Just an update on my 48 TC 6344. The car has been disassembled and all the wood replaced. That was a project not for the faint of heart. The interior from Moss motors is going in and I just received the wiring harness from Doug Pelton. I can find where this car has had two small electrica...

After disassembly of the car I was able to find the serial number. It was hidden by a shock absorber that was bolted over it. It was a aftermarket shock that was modified to fit car. Number is TC 6344. Glad I found it Thanks all for your help

I am rebuilding a 48 TC and plan on installing a complete new interior. I am going to go with green leather. Which is the best company to get this from? I am building this car to be a very nice driver and am not looking for cheap but want the best quality.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Re: 1948 tc vin?
This is the yellow car that was on BAT. The seller is a prof at an upstate NY college and was upfront about the car. I want to make the car as nice as I can and fill in as many of the blanks that are possible. I will tear it down in two weeks and then build my parts list. Excited about my new projec...

Re: 1948 tc vin?
Thanks Tom, Part of the fun of an old car is the hunt. Hunt to find the car that talks to you, , hunt for parts and processes, and the old hunt for excuses to tell the wife why this was a good idea.

Re: 1948 tc vin?
Good Afternoon Gentlemen, I just checked and it is a TD engine. The tag is mounted on the right side of the engine on a raised square which is part of the casting of the block. Tag reads XPAG TD 4950. Seems that is a dead end. I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge you guys have and your willingn...

Re: 1948 tc vin?
Thank You all. I hope I will be able to identify this car. The engine is XPAG TD 4950. I was told the engine was from a TD but it is not verified yet.
I will look a little harder on the frame to see if I can find a hint of a number, but at first look there was not a hint of one.

1948 tc vin?
Hello All, I just bought a 48 TC to restore which has been registered for many years under its body number 6318A32168 in New York. When I looked for the TC # on the frame there is no stamping. The frame must have been replaced at one time or was never stamped? Is there a way to recover the original ...
