Re: Grease fitting that I have not seen before

Thank you gentleman for the replies ! My two previous TC's had lost their original grease fittings so #6515's were new to me. Should have remembered they were noted on the lubrication chart. Think I know what might work perfectly for them - the same light grease I use in my Healey's steering box, Jo...

Grease fitting that I have not seen before

Hello all, I have TC 6515, late 1948 production, and it has a grease fitting on both sides to grease the rear spring where it attaches to the chassis. I had a 1949 and 1947 and do not recall this on either one. Was this standard for TC's and my other two simply lost the whole grease fitting and tubi...

Re: Best source for TC I.D. plate

Here's a picture of the blank plate and they stamp my car's numbers in it for $10.50 or so. Plate itself is $37.00.

Re: Best source for TC I.D. plate

Got the replacement ID plate ordered from FTFU and it is going to be the one that is plated as opposed to the brass plates I have always seen. I am assuming this is correct for a late 1948, TC6515 ???

Best source for TC I.D. plate

Hey y'all, I have managed to lose my original ID plate after taking it off to polish as per an earlier post. This has to rank as one of the dumbest things I have done recently. Tore the house apart looking for it but no luck. So, who is best source to get a new one that is not just printed but actua...

Re: Unusual aluminum valve cover for TC

Here are a couple of pictures I took this morning which better show what I have with this valve cover and vent tubing/hose from the air cleaner canister. The vertical "post" has the small cap on it and someone has stuck in a bit of fine steel wool as a simple filter. And as you can see, the air clea...

Re: Unusual aluminum valve cover for TC

Hey Steve, Thanks for the reply. The current rubber hose actually does not connect to anything, just hangs over the edge of the valve cover. Obviously not correct in function or appearance. Going to see if the small breather "pipe" with its cap allows for the cap to be removed and if the rubber tubi...

Unusual aluminum valve cover for TC

:? The coffin style valve cover on my 1948 TC has a breather hole on top with a "plug" on it that appears to allow the valve cover to breathe ? Question, the standard round air cleaner canister currently has a separate piece of rubber tubing attached to it. I have attached a picture where you can se...

Re: measurements on where to install seat brackets

Thank you Steve ! Don't know why I didn't take a picture of the exposed back when I stripped it down as actually an original back in excellent condition so know it was correct. This helps a lot .

measurements on where to install seat brackets

Well, got my seat back done up nicely with the kit from PJM in UK and pleased with the result. Believe I got it about right based on my recollection of my first TC 7636 and the help from several members with questions on attaching the vinyl on the seat back. I tried to keep track on the location of ...

Re: Looking for picture of back of TC seat back

Thank you gentlemen, exactly what I needed to see ! I did my 49 TC # 7636 but that was over 20 years ago and just did not recall exactly how it was to look so these pictures will help a bunch to get this 48 TC # 6511 done correctly. I'll post some when it is done.

Looking for picture of back of TC seat back

Help - got my new PJM seat bottoms done up quite nicely and the seat back upholstery also done up good. But, really need some help on how the finished back should look when the solid piece of matching vinyl is attached. Primarily need pictures detailing both top corners and how you make that transit...

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits

Just took delivery of a TC seat covers set from PJM and very pleased with the quality. Cost me 662 pounds delivered to SC so with exchange was $748. I feel the quality is better than Moss and have never cared for the Moss red used on TC's. I have always thought it had too much burgundy in it. Seat b...

Clutch adjustment of TC

Hey y'all, Just getting back into a 1948 TC ownership after 15 years away from one. Got into Healey's, which I still have one, but have come back to the first love for the TC. Nicely restored car but clutch travel is too far as much as I can tell. I have ordered one of the TC owners manual reprints ...

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits

Hey y'all, Do have a quick question for you - the red used by Moss is a more "burgundy" red than the red offered by PJM in UK which to me looks like the Jaguar red, they call it "poppy red". Which is actually correct for a TC ? I also have an Austin Healey 100M and the red I used on it is closer to ...

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits

Thanks y'all for the quick replies. Checked out PJM and with the current pound/dollar conversion rate their price is less than Moss and even with the usual Moss sale every year, should still be less. Depends on their shipping costs and checking on that.
Merry Christmas,
Mike
