Re: TA-TC fuel pump pressure
Have you considered two pumps? One always on stand-by. One pump under the tank and the other the original SU connected with a center off left/right toggle switch. Many pumps will push fuel through the SU. And the SU will still draw fuel through the stand-by. These pumps are quiet, https://simonbbc.c...

Re: TA Steering Wheel
Thanks for posting Tom.
Not TA but wondered if they could re-cast an original 3 spoke all black TC wheel. Do you have their email address?
We have spoken recently and you mentioned a nylon coating but I have not found an outfit to do this, in BC at least.

Re: TA Body Tub Timber Construction Pictures
Rob, There has been a lot of chat about the Moss bonnet support rubber being the wrong section. Not sure about FTFU. The correct section is the one shown by Mick. I got mine from B&G. Unfortunately we do see cars where the rubber does not overlap the scuttle possibly due to an incorrect section. Enj...

Re: MG TA1932 in Germany - Blog - all problems and ...
Franz, Due to the finger grips and shiny finish of the Brooklands wheel the cord tends to slip and the rim shows. Some have wrapped the rim first with cloth tape of similar colour to the cord for more friction. Natural hemp is often used, about 2 mm. For the length try a practice with similar diamet...

Solved - Gearbox Remote Question
The required washer was missing from the last mechanic in there who left the cap loose.
Sorry about the bandwidth and energy consumed before I got my brain and car in gear.

Gearbox Remote Question
Cap, operating shaft (Moss 43 443-020).
Should the Cap be tightened or left a little loose? If I tighten it locks the operating shaft.
Maybe tighten with an appropriate shim washer?
Thanks.

Re: TC Front End Improvements-Handling
Jay,
For me, two lengths of schluter aluminium tile edging profile from home despot. Or any straight profile of your choice.
Four magnets with spacers to reach the rim. Some folk wire or zip tie the straight edge to the spokes but the straight edge then rests on the tyres, Probably near enough.

Mark, Will be interesting to hear how the 1/2" tow-in comparison goes. But also wondering with all the work that you have done to the steering and suspension that you may be reaching the limits imposed by your brand of cross-ply tyres which in their day could wander somewhat. Bty, I installed loweri...

Indeed the bracket is beneficial, particularly if the 3 windshield stanchion machine screws also pass through it.

Re: MG TA1932 in Germany - Blog - all problems and ...
Amazing progress Franz and looking very practical, bur perhaps consider that it should be somewhat flexible when complete as our cars twist so much and you don't want to risk damaging the windshield, cowl, or the hardtop. Don't know how cars fitted with a steel roof fared but most models usually had...

Re: Lowering TC?
IMG_7699.JPG I hope this pic comes through. Another discovery today on this TC. A PO has replaced the normal drag rod end assembly with a ball joint. This ball joint is contacting the tie rod. With the correct rod end assy there might be clearance so time to pull the drop arm, get it nde tested, an...

Re: Lowering TC?
Thanks Ray. Radials would indeed be nice to try but my present 19 x4.40 tires are in good shape, plus by reducing the circumference I might be looking at a diff change.
Btw, the drop arm is touching the track rod, not the tie rod as I wrote above.

Re: Lowering TC?
Well, always in for a bit of putzing so I fashioned and installed 20mm (3/4") lowering blocks as penned by Mr. Sherrell. Now find that the drop arm kisses the tie rod in the straight ahead position. I have a BC steering box. What have people, including the race crowd, done to get around this? Maybe ...

If a UK number plate is 52 cm and each D Lamp is 8.5 cm that’s 69 cm. So 70 should do it.

Jeff,
That’s an amazing reply and much appreciated.
Any chance that you heard of Tom King? His signature dated 1971 is in one of the headlight buckets.
Could these rear lights be of Australian origins?

Hello, New member from Vancouver Island. Previous local owner reported owning the car over 40 years having purchased is in Powell River, BC. Prior to this it seems to have been an Australian export, originally green exterior and interior. Still shows green under the scuttle. At some point prior to t...
