Re: Paint for Diff Cover
Duncan:
To confirm, the diff inspection cover is bolted in? The aluminum cover on my TC was also bolted in, but it also supported an external fuel cell (long story). I was wondering if I should also bolt down the plywood replacement.

Re: Paint for Diff Cover
To clarify my initial post, since this thread has morphed a bit to discuss paint for the chassis, I was referring to the wood cover above the rear axle in the rear compartment of the TC. My TC does not have a side curtain box, so my cover is a little different than original, but it is basically the ...

Paint for Diff Cover
I made up a new diff cover for my TC. I understand it is supposed to be painted black. Recommendations on matte, satin or gloss finish?

That was my initial thought. Though it seems a lot harder than just getting one of those quart size gear oil pumps. But I also wanted to make sure I was not missing something.

Grease Nipple in Rear Axle Housing
I have a grease nipple tapped into the top of my axle housing (the axle housing itself, not the pumpkin). What could this be for? I removed the diff cover to drain and refill the rear axle, and found this little surprise.

Speedo Recalibration Assistance
Does anyone know (or can they measure) the circumference of a 19 inch TC wheel and 4.50 tire? I want to compare this to my Blockley 5.50 x 16 inch wheels/tires. That coupled with allowing for the differential swap should allow me to guesstimate my actual speed versus what is showing on the speedo. I...

Re: Boost gauge location
Dave:
You may have to remove the dash to make sure that there is enough clearance (or make another hole) in the inner dash.

Re: Boost gauge location
Dave:
Let me know if you would like a close-up and/or some measurements. This is my 1949 TC "hot rod" (built by Gene Gillam). Missing some normal fittings on the dash, so there was a lot of room to work with. Vacuum/Boost gauge is on the far right.

Thanks for clarifying Steve. I was just going off some old notes from Gene.

Re: TC Cycle Fender Bushings and Bolts
Rob: Brackets and fenders were sourced in AU by the previous owner about 15 years ago through Bob Alley in AZ. Apparently Bob used to fly back and forth to AU (he was a pilot) and bring parts back for US buyers. A small rubber spacer for the headlights and yes on 15 inch wheels. IMG_3327.jpg IMG_332...

Let me know if you need some close-up photos of the fender attachment points. I have very similar brackets on my TC and they were also sourced from AU.

Dave:
I have the Eaton M45 supercharger on my TC (but not purchased through Moss). I have a TF XPAG motor so there may be some differences, but I'd be happy to take some pictures for you. Terry Peddicord designed the system and I believe he does or used to supply Moss with their units.

Newbie Brake Maintenance Question
Bleeding the brakes on my TC. All went well. The "Instruction Manual" says to "keep (the m/c) topped up to within one inch of the cap". Does this mean to within one inch of the top of the threads for the cap, or within one inch of the top of the larger diameter supply tank below the threads? If the ...

Does anyone know what size the small screw is that retains the gas tank trigger? Mine is currently held in place with a cotter pin. I am planning to fit a new spring (mine is missing) and would like to install the proper hardware as well.

Check the Tech Info tab on the "From the Frame Up" web site. The Tech Tips section has an entry for Under Dash Wiring and Control Cables. Should be helpful.
