O.K. That picture helps. Seems a bit wonky but with over 45 years wrenching on MGs, I can understand.

TC transmission mount fixings
Anybody know anything about the 4 tranny mount bolts/and or screws? Seems I have 4 bolts (2 each side) and the left lower can’t be removed without jacking up the engine/tranny? Is this normal?

TC front engine plate
Looking for a good, straight front engine mounting plate to replace the current one on my TC which has been welded on -incorporating an oversized Allen wrench! How can someone screw up a part like that is beyond me. I could possibly repair what I have with a lot og cutting, grinding and welding, but...

Yeah Tom! I know. I truly am blessed in many ways, most of which have nothing to do with cars.
It's just those first 10 years I'd like to find out about. I suppose they are lost to time though.
Keep up your good work with supporting all of us in the hobby! We appreciate you!

48 TC 5834
I searched the archive but came up short. Anybody know EARLY ( First 10 years) history of 1948 MG TC / 5834 XPAG 6552. I do have some; as follows: Bought by me from Manly Ford, Jr. in 2012. formerly owned by George Shafer, in PA and before that by A.B. Vestal in Pittsburgh, who bought the car in 195...

No gasket, that I'm aware of. Just metal to metal.

Re: Transmission oil
Royal purple, Redline, and Lucas are all newer products, which is fine. But, as I used to work around alot of heavly used machinery, like in steel mills and glasshouses and heavy construction, I recommend the Lubriplate products. Your opinion may vary, and obviously does. Oils and lubes are a highly...

Re: Transmission oil
I use Lubriplate lubricants exclusively. No connection or investments, just exceedingly high standard products. I use SPO 277 in the gearbox.

Butch T is the man. Send him your pump if you want it done right. He has done several for me and original water pumps too. See if he is accepting any new work at this time.

Excellent! I'll make a new longer one. It's amazing what one finds. Cooling Fan was also installed backwards! Thermostat had no thermostat, etc.

Re: TC radiator support rods
Thanks Steve, that's what I thought. The bends I have other than the intake clearence just don't look "factory". I'll straighten em out while i'm tinkering under the bonnet.

TC radiator support rods
O.K. I know the right side rod is bent for clearance for the intake manifold: What about the left side, passengers side? Should it be straight back from the rad stay to the scuttle bend?
Both of mine are bent - left worse than the right.
Thanks,
Brian

Well, some difference. Tom and Mark; I too agree that it makes sense as it definetely was carried over to the TD. Also looks better to me!

TC front apron webbing
Is the webbing a different diameter for the front apron vs for the body tub?
I have reason to belive it is smaller diameter, such as the TD.
Thanks,
Brian
