TB Body and TABC spares lot
****Parts are all sold, thank you***** I have stored a TB body and many spares that were not used when rebuilding my TA special. Please note, this is not a complete car as a chassis is not included! You will need to source one to make a complete car. I can provide a contact for that if you wish. It'...

Re: Front axle (brake) torque reaction cable modification
I used them on my TA special and can feel them engage with moderate braking force. I read that they should be adjusted with about 1/2" of deflection in the center to provide a little slack for suspension movement. My cables and brackets came from Steve Baker in the UK who supplies many parts for sta...

Looking for contact information for Ken Spencer
Hello all, I’m looking for previous owners of TA2962 now that the car is finally back on the road (photos attached), and have been fortunate enough to connect with Bob Grunau. He kindly forwarded a notebook from a previous owner, Ken Spencer, of Littleton, MA documenting his efforts to find parts to...

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system
I found the fittings at SVW spares. They also had 90 degree fittings for the rear trunnions. They were very helpful in sourcing the bits I needed!

Mystery smooth side oil sump
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has information on this mystery oil sump. It came from a pre-timing chain tensioner block that is not marked XPAG, so perhaps it's and XPJM, XPJW. As you can see, the baffle is only a short rectangle where most run the length of the sump with a hole for the oil pic...

Re: TA/TB lubrication system parts
Does anyone know the correct pipe routing out to the fitting on the rear trunion? I’ve seen it run along the top and bend down, or along the back and bend forward, but would like to know what the correct way should be.

Hand brake cross tube end float . . how much?
Hello all, I'm assembling my hand brake cross tube with renewed bearings on the ends. The chassis measurements check out and everything runs straight and true. However, I notice there is a large amount of lateral movement of the cross tube sliding in and out of the bearings when I move it side to si...

Re: TA/TB lubrication system parts
For the 90 degree elbow, contact Peter Ratcliffe at SVW spares. He might also have other rare lubrication fittings.

Any T-ABC members going to Jagerhaus lunch brigade today?
Hello,
I’m in town this weekend visiting family and found out the vintage MG club meets at Jagerhaus in Anaheim for lunch today so I’m planning to attend. Anyone else from the list attending?

XPAG engine block wanted (max bore 0.060" over)
Hello, I'm looking for a good XPAG block for my project. No heads, crank, etc needed except the main bearing caps. I'd prefer the bore be no greater than 0.060" over because I have new pistons at 0.080" over. I live near Seattle, WA and am willing to drive a couple hundred miles.
Best regards,
Craig

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system
Thank you for the information John. It looks like the male ends are 5/16" BSF (22 TPI) accepting a flared pipe end on the outer side (probably an olive originally) and a straight thread into the trunnion end cap with a crush washer to seal. I'll check with Steve to see if he has any lying around. If...

Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system
Hello all, I'm restoring the centralized lubrication system (also called the grouped nipple chassis lubrication) for TA 2962 chassis and thankfully have nearly all the pieces but a few. I'm looking for 2 ea of the double ended male fittings that thread into the endcap of the trunnion, and two of the...

Re: Looking for a TA or TB project (chassis or complete)
I'm located in Tacoma, WA but can travel if the project seems like a good fit. As I thought more about this project, I realized that I would really prefer a badly deteriorated car or even bare chassis. I would like to use an XPAG engine and cycle type wings for this project and don't want to destroy...

Looking for a TA project (Update: Found one, thanks!)
Hello all, I recently completed a 1500-hour restoration on a badly rusted MGA and apparently that wasn't enough so I'd like to locate an MGTA TB or TC to restore. I'm not afraid to fabricate so a rusty basket-case or even incomplete chassis is preferred, as I would like to make some modifications an...
