Re: mg ta gauges
Hi, the needles pull off. Using a suitable puller as shown in the picture will avoid (hopefully) damage to the needle. The pullers are available on eBay under "clock hand puller". Let the tiny screws holding the face soak for a few days in, as has been suggested, a 50/50 mixture of acetone and atf. ...

Re: 1951 TD speedometer- wanted
Hi, I have a s561 chronometric spedometer in KPH. The turns per km is 1000 instead of the 1600 for a MPH speedo. It has recently been restored by West Vallet Instruments Specialists in the US. I don't think it has been used since the restoration. The dial face is in KPH and the odometers appear to a...

Re: wanted: TC gearbox or parts
Brad, I have a complete gearbox or any parts you might need for it. I also have a cut down shift extension that, I believe, was used in an early Lotus. Also among the parts is a Riley gearbox which is more or less identical to the TC box with the exception of the gear ratios not being the same. If i...

Re: Chassis number for 1949 MG TC
Many thanks to those who replied to my enquiry re the chassis number. The situation has now been resolved. In addition I found its UK number plate, KGE 250, in the parts which came with the car. I have the history of the car from 1984 and, according to Stewart Penfound's data, the history up to 1966...

Chassis number for 1949 MG TC
I recently purchased a 1949 MG TC with California registration. This shows the engine number as the vehicle ID number. It is XPAG9204. I have the engine on the chassis but I cannot find the chassis number which should be on the front dumb iron as well as that the brass ID tag has gone missing. Is th...

Re: Wanted: TC Rear Fenders
Hi Bill, are you still looking for a pair of TC rear fenders? I have a set out at our vacation property and will be going out there on the week-end. I will check their condition and take some pictures at that time.

FT27 Foglight
I posted this request on the old index but will ask the same question here. I have a FT27 foglight that appears to be missing the medallion that is on the cross bar. Does anyone have a description of this missing part, or better yet a picture? Cheers, Hugh Pite TC2746
