Re: Sandblasting Wheel Rims
Many years ago I rebuilt an MGB. Very rusty and many holes. I too thought take it to the sand blaster and get all the old paint and muck off it. The body shell was much much thicker than a TC. All the panels finished up clean and primed. The bonnet was so distorted it was scrapped. The scuttle was a...

Re: TC overheating a repeating topic, sorry!
Before you replace the thermostat it should look like this one. The cylindrical band at the lower end moves up as the thermostat opens and closes the bypass. The housing on the TA looks like this picture. Moss list it as the same for TA-TD. If you use a modern thermostat you will need to reduce the ...

Re: TC overheating a repeating topic, sorry!
The TA has a radiator bypass hose from the thermostat housing. It allows the flow to go round the engine when thermostat is closed. As the thermostat opens it blocks the bypass. If no thermostat the water always bypasses the radiator. You need to restrict but not close this flow if thermostat is rem...

I think you mean the red bar in the photos. Goes between the inlet manifold and the air intake.
Its made of 3/4 by 1/8 mild steel. The close up shows the slow running cable terminated on the fixing bolt

Re: ta and tc steering
Early TA steering wheel has a key fitting compared to the splined one on later TA and all TB and TC. Otherwise they are the same. Draglink is the same. This is a link to Barry Walker's page. http://www.barrywalker.com/cat.asp?cat=14. Item 1 is early TA and item 1A is all the rest. I think most of th...

Re: TA Battery Replacement
Err. You won't get double the current.
Have you refitted the gearbox to frame earth strap, and are the connections clean and tight?

Re: TA Battery Replacement
It might be worth checking the switch on the starter. A small resistance here combined with the very large current gives a big volt drop. Its not helpful that you can't get to the starter motor to measure the voltage applied to it. You should first check the volts at the starter switch terminal when...

Re: TA Oil Pressure problem
I managed to reassemble an oil pump with the gasket flipped over.
Gasket is symmetrical except for the outlet hole, so fitting it wrong way blocks the outlet.
No attempts at priming would fix that!!
