Hi is there a kit or has anyone fitted a fuel gauge to a Tc?
I’m thinking of something like the triple m fitted into top of the tank
I do have a marked stick which is ok but a bit smelly in the car with the top up

Re: Electric puller fan on a TC
well good luck fitting a puller fan in the space available! I have an Eaton supercharger with a stock 4 blade fan. I have fitted a 12" blower fan, can't remember the make, [don't skimp on a cheap one as its too much hassle to fit in the first place, never mind having to change it again!] in front of...

I have 5 Dunlop 450.19, spare unused remainder need sorting. out of curiosity I was trying to find the manufacture date but not getting very far My spare is stamped '4707' as are the two fronts. The two rears stamped '0908'. The car was first registered in July 1948 do these numbers mean anything or...

Re: spark plug advice
As a matter of curiosity, and slight concern, as I'm rebuilding engine now, and probably a silly question
but how do you know what length plugs are the correct ones, other than sticking a tape down the hole!

timing light
Either I'm pretty thick or there is way too much information out there as to the type of timing light required for my XPAG engine Tc I have a TD cam and supercharger but it is running too hot to the point of nearly boiling in the hot weather the UK has at the moment So I thought of buying a timing l...

Re: Chronometric Speedometer needle wiggle - Jaeger in MGTC
sort of still on topic but what is the best grease to use the speedo/rev counter cables please.
Mine wiggle a little bit but I was told its because of the type of mechanism used internally, but what would I know, way too complicated for me to attempt to dismantle!

Re: Wheel bearing grease
I can happily vouch for Roger Furneaux rear axle bearing/ half shaft mods. Changed my a few years ago and happy oil free brake shoes ever since. Changed the diff. nose bearing unit at the same time, that works well too. I have no connection with Roger at all, other than we both live on the same isla...

tc fuel gauge?
MMM cars often have a top tank mounted fuel gauge and was wondering if anyone has fitted this to a TC?
If not is there anyway of fitting a fuel gauge, maybe using the 'low fuel' light sender unit?

Re: hot running rear hub
If using silicon fluid how clean does the system need to be of the 'old' fluid And I kind of agree with Ian that water gets into the system anyway through condensation etc I'm thinking of an annual flush through with fresh fluid might be a better, albeit pretty tedious, way of minimising water in th...

Re: hot running rear hub
After much head scratching and staring at the brakes for hours with the obligatory mug of tea, problem solved! The lead shoe piston in the brake cylinder was not fully retracting after brake release causing slight binding, hence the hot brake drum after a few miles of running. The return spring seem...

hot running rear hub
ok so I recently fitted a set of replacement sealed RF hub bearings with his modified 50mm nuts, all torqued to 130 ft lbs. Checked brakes not binding and handbrake free on release, but the driver side is running really hot after a few miles. Now in a panic as I have a car event in a weeks time and ...

So I am wondering if TC's came from the factory with shiny plated nuts and bolts or painted the body/ chassis colours? My car had them already painted but I have do some work to the chassis areas and was wondering if its a bit of showmanship to replace some perfectly good fittings with new plated it...

any ideas how I can check the compression ratio of an engine please? was thinking of upping the supercharger fully to give a bit of a boost in power, bottom end is all good had head sorted a while ago to unleaded so think it should be ok, but would be useful to have a starting point to measure thanks

TC overheating- another question!
I am sure this topic is done to death somewhere, just can't find it, so apologies for repetition 3 questions 1- should I replace the original 4 blade metal fan for, i'm being told, an mob plastic one, that apparently fits straight on and in the limited space available or 2- fit an electric fan in fr...
