Re: wanted: TA Tach drive Gearbox
I wish you luck. I looked for 3 years and eventually gave up and bought one from Moss. Works well and have lock wired it to the back of the dynamo on my TA as the original one fell off.

Re MGTA rev counter gearbox for back of dynamo
Driving at 50mph along a busy road and heard a strange bang. At the next set of traffic lights, noticed the rev counter was stuck on 3000rpm. Arrived home and opened the bonnet to find the whole gearbox had detached itself from the dynamo and cable and was nowhere to be found. Next time should wire ...

Re: Rubber gear box cover '39 TA
The rubber gearbox cover I bought from Moss was half an inch too short and wouldn't reach the firewall. I glued rubber strips around the front of the cover and it fitted perfectly. The hole for the dipstick and filler cap had to be enlarged slightly.

TA brake light switch
The switch mounted on the chassis is horizontal. The spring running to the pedal is angled downwards and there is not enough pull when applying the brakes to pull the flat peice of steel out far enough to actuate the brake lights. has any one had this problem?

Correct me if I am wrong but should the setting for the head studs be 35 and the rocker shaft 15?

There is quite a mixture of threads on the MPJG. For instance the fan is held on with four 2BA bolts.

MG TA Hood fitting
I am about to tackle fitting a new hood supplied by Don Trimming.
They supplied small black nails to tack the hood to the rear wooden rail.
Has anyone used another method to attach the hood to the rear of the car?

Have just completed a nut and bolt restoration and including new loom and rewound dynamo. Everything works except the red ignition light won't go out and the ammeter shows a discharge. It has a CJR3 cutout. Dynamo shows 11 Volts. Have played around with the third brush but still has the light on. An...

Has anyone got a photo of where the rubber strips go between the rear of the body tub and the gas tank?
Is the rubber separating the bottom of the tank and the chassis the same thickness?
