Front Road Spring Clips

Does anyone have any tips for removal of the clips holding the front road spring leaves together and then replacing securely following a rebuild?

Hi Nick, I replaced my front springs with some ordered through John James from Brose Forge and they came with U shaped brackets but instead of the top being bent on either side over the spring they extended up a little with a hole drilled in them and a nut and bolt joining them across the top. Makes dismantling the springs for greasing an easier task. As regards undoing the original clips I just prised them apart and refitted by squeezing in a vice! Not sure that is technically correct though!
