xpag cam followers
I notice that xpag cam followers are now available with tutride coating, is this necessary as the standard are chilled iron, and presumably they have just added the tuftride coating. has anybody had any experience of using these. At the moment I am using standard modified with ground vertical oil groves to hopefully supply some extra oil to cam face.

Ed,
Have you checked your folders lately? If they aren't worn are you sure you'll drive the car enough in the next few years to justify buying new ones? I'm using rollers myself so have no need for nitrided ones but used the stock, modified ones for several years with mo problem.

Re: xpag cam followers
Hi Gene, thanks for the prompt reply, as I do aprox 2000 miles /year I check the followers annually, especially no 5,6,7, as they showed a non rotating wear pattern from the start on engine rebuild several years ago, I am fortunate to be able to buy followers direct from manufactures but have to modify with oil grooves myself so cost is minimal I guess I will try some nitrided ones and see if they outperform std chilled iron. Ed.
