Update on the Caterham is that it's running. I'll go out in it next week and burn off the 3 year old fuel and refill with fresh, then check the timing. Doing some work on the Land Rover now in between cutting grass (we have 10 acres/375 hectares). All this will be done by 28th when the TC arrives.
I'm ready see THIS (at the bottom to see how prepared!)

Re: Hello from a Brit in France
A word of encouragement- I am finishing up a mechanical restore of my Fathers 49 TC he tucked away in 1955.
Although the paint is mostly intact and no serious rust or bad wood, due to being stored inside, in California Bay Area, I was able to get the beast running well (it ran well at retirement) and rebuild all brake components, dampers, wheels, carbs, you get the idea... with my own elbow grease and experience. My point being that these TC's were well built and have a lot of special parts (left off the TD and TF) that make the effort worthwhile. I'm going for preservation (original paint and patina) where obviously your find is meant for a complete ground up restoration. Or, perfect for a ground up restoration. Have fun!

Re: Hello from a Brit in France
Duncan, thanks for the encouragement.
I plan to keep as much as I can. I will change the wheel and master cylinders as well as all the pipes. But everything else will be saved and renovated if it can.
Parts are expensive but lets be glad they're available.
I haven't got under the covers so to speak yet as the car is still in Sheffield. Will arrive here on 28th. On 13 days to go
I will know how bad it is within 3 days of getting it here.
