Throttle Return Spring

Post by mgraziano1975 » Mon May 18, 2015 6:54 pm

Once in a while the new TC throttle sticks on the choke cable. After looking at some diagrams, it looks like the throttle connection might be DPO'd with the wrong fittings and missing the spring.

Can anyone send photos of what the fittings should look like on a '48?

My photos are here:

Mike,

If those photos of the red TC are of your car it looks like your throttle return spring isn't installed correctly. It should go from the hole at the end of the throttle rod (looks correct in the photo) to a bracket from the top bolt on your starter motor. See Moss catalog: 433-550 $29.95 BRACKET, throttle spring (on starter)

You can make that bracket for a lot less than $30.
