I have a significant oil leak from the pinion shaft as it emerges from the front of the diff casing. Otherwise, the diff seems fine.
I am contemplating replacing the current cap with the modified type from Moss/FTFU that contains a modern-ish rubber lip seal. Has anyone done this with the rear axle in the car? I have access to a two-post hoist.

I fitted a modern seal supplied by Roger Furmeaux in the UK.
No idea if it's oil tight yet. Give me a shout about next March

I fitted one with success from the top through the tonneau floor, easy job and no more leaks.
