The 'NEW' Yahoo...

Post by Tweed » Sat Dec 07, 2019 7:19 am

Is it just me or is anyone else confused as to how to continue with 'the list'!

Instead of sending messages to mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com, you now send them to mg-tabc@groups.io. You can still send messages to the old address and they will be forwarded to the new one, but only for a few more days. On the 14th, Yahoo will be shutting down all but its most basic features, and eventually shutting down their email groups altogether.

I've had a few emails also asking about our MG-TABC web site. The site will remain unchanged, as will the Discussion Forum there. The only change being made is moving the email group from Yahoo to Groups.io. Please remember that if you want to post messages on the Discussion Forum of the web site then it's a separate registration that you do right there on our site. The Discussion Forum and the email list are separate entities.

Here are some simple steps to do this:
1. Go to https://groups.io/g/MG-TABC
2. Log in – top right hand corner and use the email address that you want to receive the emails to
3. Enter a password
4. You will be told you are not a member and you will be sent an email.
5. Check your email and click on the link to set up your new password (can be the same as your old one)
6. Go back to https://groups.io/g/MG-TABC and log in if you are not automatically done so with your password
7. On the Left side of the screen under the HOME button is a SUBSCRIBE button – click there and you can select and SAVE your preferences.

A little long winded … but it will get you there.

Sorry but the below does not work. Just get a message "The email does not have anXXXXX account".  No email ever received.
Will try through Facebook.

Paul et al

I did exactly this, even before your email! All seemed to go well but I get a pinkish message bar that says my subscription has not yet been approved. It recognizes me and my email address but that's it. I shall just wait a while longer and see what happens I suppose.

When you next go to the site the pink bar is still there refresh the site and it should go away which will indicate that you have been accepted
