Chrome plating

Post by jddevel » Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:41 am

Has anyone had their bright work rechromed at Marque Restore Chrome Plating Ltd, Coventry please? If so an indication of cost would help.

haven't used them but have used 'classic and chrome' in Hinkley ... if they are still up and running!

Thanks for the suggestion. Concerned about their online reviews. I`ve got one of those here in Cornwall which is why I was looking further afield.

I have used Marque Restore for all of my chrome work. They have several weeks waiting list which is always a good sign. I have been happy with the results. My radiator surround was in very poor condition and they use an outside contractor for larger repairs - this was reshaped pretty well including pressing out the upper section. Repair to shell came to just over £300 (it was falling in half!) and chroming was £500 but that included several smaller parts, brackets etc. They took pictures of the whole repair process form me on request with no problems. Cheers. Tim.

That`s a coincidence. I had a long chat with "Alan" yesterday morning at Marque Restorations having viewed a YouTube they`ve made. It gave the confidence to chat and having done so will most likely take up the necessary parts for a quote. Whilst I live in Cornwall I often visit in their location. Whilst chatting he actually told me that he will be shortly adding a YouTube of the work on a "T" series radiator once it has been correctly edited. As a guide £350 +V.A.T for the rad was suggested - it doesn`t need any repair just will look out of place if head lights etc are done.

Its my TC - Alan recorded the repairs at the time and said he planned to put it on his site. I went the same route as you - looked at their work on YouTube and then had a long chat going through what was required.

I have just collected my chromed parts from Derby Plating. The rad shell was broken and dented and they have made a fantastic job of it. The headlamps also needed work but all the brightwork was chromed to their usual high standards... but they don't come cheap.! Needless to say, the price was eye watering, but they went the extra mile.
