MBD 140 head lamps question.

I am currently assembling my TC head lamps. They are the original 8" MBD 140 lamps which have a steel support riveted to the chromed brass bowl. It looks like there is no gasket between these parts. Is this correct please?

No gasket, that I'm aware of. Just metal to metal.
