TF wiper

Post by jddevel » Fri Sep 17, 2021 7:32 am

Having problems with the passenger side (UK) wiper spindle. The brass bush that tightens on the shaft has obviously worn and I suppose needs replacing. However I thought I`d ask whether anyone has come up with a modification. When in either snowy conditions or very light showers obviously the wipers have to struggle against either a "dry" screen or snow therefore wearing the bush away.

I have no experience with TF wipers, but on the TC, the spindle itself can also wear when the arms have been slipping. Might want to check that your spindles aren't undersize. If so, a temporary fix might be to get some very thin shim stock and slip it in there before tightening?

Haven`t got around to that stage on my TC, Perhaps there is a method of knurling manually without removing the spindle to get it on a lathe.
