tc fuel gauge?

Post by tone » Fri Jan 14, 2022 12:24 am

MMM cars often have a top tank mounted fuel gauge and was wondering if anyone has fitted this to a TC?

If not is there anyway of fitting a fuel gauge, maybe using the 'low fuel' light sender unit?

I expect most TC owners would prefer not to make another hole in their tank...but that is not to say what you should do with yours! I can't see the low level warning light being much use with a gauge as it would not show you anything more than you already have with the light so you would need to fit a mechanically operated gauge to the tank - same as found on vintage cars.

Incidentally, you probably don't want an electrical instrument too close to petrol fumes!

Tone, and you and I Ray, already has an electrical instrument as near to petrol fumes as it is possible to be as the 12V contacts for the fuel level light run submerged in the stuff most of the time.
