TA Body Number ID Plate or Tag
Is there anyone that can post a picture of the correct body number ID plate for TA?
I have been told it is not the same as for TC.
I understand it would be found inside on the left front "A" post in front of the door.

Re: TA Body Number ID Plate or Tag
Excellent, thanks Chris. I see it was a body type B269, where mine is a B270, but I'll assume they would have used the same ID plate.
Yours has 4698, and on mine the number 6415 is clearly stamped on the wood cowl; I have been led to understand these are batch numbers from Morris Bodies. The build date of mine is 4 May 1937.

Rob,
My ‘37 TA is parked in the garage with the LHS up against a wall so can’t open the LHS door
When I get it out in a month, I can find the plate & upload a photo if you still need it then.

Thanks Ian, yes I would like to see another photo. Can you see it by going in the right side?

Rob,
I tried looking from the RHS but can’t see a plate.
The cockpit is currently filled up with stuff that is ready for the next phase of the “refresh”.
New seats, new carpets, new rubber transmission tunnel cover, new stainless muffler system etc. etc.
I just need to wait a while till it's warmer.

Re: TA Body Number ID Plate or Tag
Here's what From the Frame Up sent me.
It measures 4-7/8" x 1-1/2".
Perhaps they make them without holes because they were used on various models with two or four holes?
It looks like the pix of some that others have sent me.
I will be interested to see if Ian has something.

Rob,
I got my TA out from against the wall today.
I am afraid that I can be of no help with your ID plate.
I cannot find such a plate anywhere & the LHS ahead of the door is covered by a panel.
Picture attached.

it'll be stuck behind the side-kick panel you see! The tags arent there to be seen ... only to be found

Re: TA Body Number ID Plate or Tag
Thanks for looking anyway, Ian. Keep me in mind if you ever happen to take that kick panel off.
Meanwhile I started stripping my left front side cowl panel, where the ID plate in theory should have been. Found the car must have taken a clout there at some time in the distant past, and had been repaired by someone who drilled 8 holes through the wood and put in long 1/4" flat head screws, then covered them with about 4 pounds of lead. The steel rusted away but the lead remained.
This panel is separate from the door sill panel on this TA, apparently unlike the TC, in which the Moss catalogue shows it as a one piece quarter panel 457-300. I'm not sure yet how they were joined, either by a couple of tack welds and then solder, or maybe just solder, anyway it broke apart.
