Limited slip differential

Post by terencegb » Sun May 01, 2022 3:03 am

Has anyone any experience of using an LSD in a TC? My car is modified and tuned for use in club competition. Yesterday I twisted a pair of the ‘modern’ replacement upgraded half shafts and my diff went with them, I suspect the temper may not be correct but I often find issues with specialist alleged improved components. I presently use an MG Midget diff housing so it would be an easy fit, has anyone done this with a TC ? I’m thinking about a helical drive rather than a plate diff, better on the road.

I have tapered rear outer end TC axles to suit 6 splne TC soider gears or 10 spline Morri Minor spider gears. Also taper bored rear new wire wheel hubs to suit tapered axles. Axle shafts are ASTM 4340 and no failures in tace TCs. Bob
