Best source for TC I.D. plate
Best source for TC I.D. plate
Hey y'all,
I have managed to lose my original ID plate after taking it off to polish as per an earlier post. This has to rank
as one of the dumbest things I have done recently. Tore the house apart looking for it but no luck.
So, who is best source to get a new one that is not just printed but actually stamped as per the original. Got
a good source to then have engine number and car number stamped from my Healey world but if a good one in the MG world please let me know.
Thanks once again for any suggestions,
Mike

My first thought would be From The Frame Up.

Yep, spoke to Doug at FTFU and the new correct ID pate is $37.00 and to emboss it with my engine and car numbers
another $10.50 or so. Got one ordered !

Got the replacement ID plate ordered from FTFU and it is going to be the one that is plated as opposed to the brass plates I have always seen. I am assuming this is correct for a late 1948, TC6515 ???

If I recall correctly they were all nickle plated originally, but most have worn away by now. Nickle plating isn't the most durable thing to use in an engine bay.

Mike-
I would be interested in seeing what the FTFU ID plate looks like. A pic of the whole plate would be great.

Here's a picture of the blank plate and they stamp my car's numbers in it for $10.50 or so. Plate itself is $37.00.
Re: Best source for TC I.D. plate
Thank you for posting that, Mike. The layout is the best I have seen for that plate.
