Hi Whitworth Heads,

You probably don’t remember me, Peter Pleitner. I used to be active here during the Clinton and Bush II years in the US.

I’ve re-registered now because I discontinues my associated old email address, and am reaching out because my TC is in the process of becoming a legal resident of New Zealand. It had been running as an outlaw to test various stages of reassembly

I shipped her with two Jags that I was storing for a dear friend. Coincidentally, his wife found a house in her native Wellington with more than the usual garage space, as I was loosing storage space here. His name is Samuel Chuffart. He’s French a designer, Art Center graduate, and Director of Design with ICONA.
I’ve encouraged him to join TABC.org.

Sam wants to upgrade the brakes with alfin drums because the inspector in NZ told him he needs fresh hubs. I had already put new wheels with Blockley tyres on it, installed a Ford 5 speed trany because it was a good opportunity as some cam lobes were not happy about their followers after just 10k miles! Also, she has a Datsun 1200 steering column, the original assembly and the gear box went as spares.

I had to hustle to ship his Jags (concours Etype and project XK150S roadster) and my TC with her cylinder head loose, because my extra garage space in a museum’s annex was sold to Eastern Michigan University. I had just finished upgrading her valves. Fresh brakes and better cooling is exactly what she needs now in her happy new home. My hope is she’ll motor many more miles with smiles for Sam’s family and generations to come. She’s the kitten among cats (he has more) and his women love her. Also, there is an active MG club but few TCs. Sam says veryone that sees her is smitten. That warms my heart. I hope to visit ASAP.

Cheers, Peter K. Pleitner

Hi Peter, and welcome back! We haven't heard from you in a few years. Sorry to see your TC leave you but I'm glad it got a good home.
