I've seen reference to 0.29" and 6.6mm as being original thickness. The only important thing is to get the overall thickness of glass plus glazing correct. I believe the channel is around 3/8".

TC windscreen glass - I am positive that the original laminated glass was not measured metrically but was of imperial size.
What I have ascertained in the past few years is that you are unlikely to find nor have made a windscreen in imperial size.
The nearest size i have made (20+ winsdscreens now) is 6mm glass, both either toughened and or laminated.
I have 4 new laminated screens being made.

I had PM`d you requesting location as I`ve an original admittedly cracked but out of the frame which I had a glazier replicate. It is important to note that the area around the wiper motor is cut to allow motor fixings. You did reply but gave no location which may have allowed a collection/delivery of my screen to assist.

Being in the UK I can`t economically provide an original taken from a 1948 vehicle however it should be noted that glass has to be cut to accommodate the wiper motor fittings.

please be very aware that the glass doesnt just have the cutouts for the wiper motor, as there is the idle too, along with each corner having reduced cuts to cater for the 90 degree screw fixing plates ... so not just the wiper motor. I have the template as mentioned
