TC Jack location

Hi all, I’ve just acquired an original Shelley jack for TC2190. I believe it is stored on the drivers side of the toolbox, but can anybody tell me the correct way of locating it? The box has a ‘lump’ under the felt a few inches from the RH end which I assume helps locate it, but should it lie on its side, or upright, or….
