Clutch foot rest ?

Post by Ian R » Fri May 26, 2023 2:13 pm

I’ve scoured the forum & cannot find anything on what members use for a clutch foot rest.
I have a TA with a FTFU rubber gear box cover & I need something to rest my left foot on so that I do not end up resting against the clutch pedal & thus possibly wrecking the clutch.

My father restored the car in 1984 & rubber gearbox covers were not available then.
So he rigged up a simple pedal mount that bolted the the gearbox case & this did the job for years.
i have improved the car with the rubber tunnel cover but now have nowhere to rest my clutch foot.
Ideas ?

Many thanks TC9800. That is exactly the sort of simple concept that I’m looking for.
It is so clever that I wonder “why didn’t I think of that”.
Problem solved !

That’s an interesting concept. I find that with narrow driving shoes, I can fit my size 11 feet between the clutch and the gearbox cover, fully stretching my leg out and feeling very comfortable. With shorter legs that brace would work well too.
