Is this a correct oil pickup assembly for a 1948 TC?

I am wondering if some PO swapped the original oil pickup assembly for something else. I attach a couple of pictures.

Can any of you tell me what I have?

That is the correct oil pick-up assy. for TC.

Agreed! The brass fitting attaches to the inside wall of the oil pan. The pointed cap can be removed for cleaning the pickup screen inside.

Particular care needs to be taken with sealing the oil pipe flanges. Also, you may have noticed that in their wisdom, Abingdon positioned the pick up to the left side of the sump ...which has potential oil feed implications. Some people have added baffles to avoid the possibility of bearing starvation on hard left hand bends.

Over the top maybe?

Well, for what it's worth, I understand the design flaw was corrected in later engines.
