Fiber Spacer Washer for Rear Spring Shackle Arms
I noticed that the two rear spring shackle arms seemed a bit crimped together and I looked in my various catalogs to see if I was missing anything in that assembly.
I did find a listing in the NTG catalog- showing “S365D fibre washer -rear shackle”
The other catalogs do not show this washer. Moss, Abingdon Spares, and Doug Pelton do not list it.
Has anyone actually fitted this spacer/washer between the lower bushings in the rear shackle arms?

I do see a fiber washer listed in the Moss catalog- the position of the washer seems incorrect, but Moss does show a fiber washer for the rear shackle.

Yes, I've always run the washer in that location on every TC I've worked on.

Thank you Steve - it is definitely missing on this car.
I appreciate the confirmation.

When you have it apart you can check that the #12 pin is straight.

Recently changed the bushes with NTG poly, The fibre washer they supplied was 5/8" ID but easily opened up to the required 3/4" ID.
Some theories about the purpose, maybe to keep water out? But it does act as a spacer.

Thanks Will, Stu, and Duncan.
I will be adding those washers - they should address the slight misalignment that I noticed.

Re: Fiber Spacer Washer for Rear Spring Shackle Arms
Just a quick update - Moss supplies a fiber washer that is correct for the TD, but this washer is not the correct one for the TC. The catalog shows the same washer for TC and TD. The TC washer is much larger - it has both a larger interior diameter opening and the overall washer is much larger.
Perhaps the NTG washer is correct. It may be possible to find a generic fiber washer that will fit the need.

As mentioned previously, the NTG washers that I received were undersize on the ID but when enlarged they were OK.
You should be able to find something locally, Needs to be about 1/16" thick. Even Home Despot lists them.
