Brass Body SU Fuel Pump - date code?

Post by Rob Reilly » Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:58 am

A question has come up on an early Jaguar forum I'm on.
The aluminum body fuel pumps have a date code stamped on them.
A letter for the year and a numeral for the month.
I have two stamped G12 and N1 which means Dec 1951 and Jan 1956.
Letters I and J and O were not used.
What about the brass body pumps?
I'm curious to know if the brass body fuel pumps used on TC have a stamped date code.
A = 1945
B = 1946
C = 1947
month 1 = Jan
month 2 = Feb
etc
And if anyone has a pre-war pump I'm also interested to hear what it has stamped on it.

I don't know the answer but if anyone has a brass pump they don't need, I'd be interested in purchasing it.

I suppose the brass base pumps could have been made before or during the War, with leftovers used after.
