Wheel paint color?
Wheel paint color?
I'm the very proud new owner on TC9657 and going through touching up a few minor things. Fortunately the previous owner did a great job getting the car into the shape it's in today. The wheels are painted and have a couple of minor scratches on them. Is there a touch up paint that anyone has found that matches the semi flat silver color on the wheels?

Re: Wheel paint color?
Tough question, as there are many metallic silver paints that T owners can choose from when panting their wheels, and who knows which one the previous owner used? I'd be inclined to go to a car parts shop, park your TC in the lot, then take out the various silver paints and see which lid most closely matches your wheels. That will give you the colour. Then you can try to find the same colour in a can.

Re: Wheel paint color?
Even the original factory paint color varies a bit from what I understand, so there is no true factory original color to go with. For this reason, everyone seems to just grab whatever is "close enough" and convenient. So I think Rick's suggestion is spot on. I tried several silvers from our local Pep Boys and none were to my liking. I have heard however that Mercedes Silver is a good one.
For what it's worth, the Moss wheel silver is a really nice color and very close to what I believe is an original shade. But it isn't cheap, and it might not match what you have. Here is an original TC wheel I re-painted a couple years ago with the Moss stuff.

I have always used Krylon Dull Aluminum paint for the wheels. Comes in a spray can. One color that they always keep making.

I have researched this and have selected a High Performance Paint that I now offer in my catalog: formulated for wheels and is the best match for TC wheels that I have found. My part number is WH128, $17.95 per can. 1 can does 2 wheels.

Re: Wheel paint color?
An exact match for the Moss silver is Eastwood's 'warm silver' for british wire wheels.
It is lacquer based, easy to spray, great for touch ups as it dries quickly, and, on the MGSA and TC, looks great!
