Hi all,
yesterday I checked the handbrake cables on TC 1514. I cleaned everything and put the cables back in fiddling the cable back through the brake plates. I fixed everything as it was before. Today I found in my I photo collection this photo (attached). I think this is wrong. One fixing plate is on the inside of the brake plate, the other on the outside. Which plate goes inside? The one that that stops the outer tube of the cable?

I see you were able to attach the photo retroactively with the edit button (original post was missing the photo). The edit button is nice as I many times find errors in my posts after sending them.

Peter,
I believe it is generally acknowleged that BOTH fixing plates go on the outside of the brake backing plate. This is contrary to the Sherrell book. I think Doug has an article concerning this on his website.
