New TC parts owner - restoring
New TC parts owner - restoring
Currently restoring two MG TC's, one being a roadster the other a racer (Racer with a blower).
I have the following engine numbers, body number and two chassis - have looked everywhere on chassis for the numbers and no luck:
Engine numbers: XPAG 6416, XPJM.1 no.69828 and XPAG11271 (Total of 3)
Body: Car no.5210, XPAG 5853 (Total 1)
Chassis: no identifiable numbers anywhere (Total of 2)
Kindly provide any insight, history or how to proceed to get information.
Thank you in advance

Re: New TC parts owner - restoring
The TC chassis number is stamped on very point of the left front spring mount, on the outside face. For an excellent photo see the "TC Identification" thread below, on page 1.
When I get home from work I will back-search by engine number, and will be able to tell you in which chassis those engines originally came. The two low XPAG numbers are TC numbers.

Hi
Thank you
We have looked all over the chassis, including the left front - don't know if previous restorations have removed it entirely, pretty bad spray job on the chassis currently.

Paint can very easily cover up the numbers. Scraping can be necessary. See the picture to be sure you are looking in the correct place (thanks to Tom Wilson)

If you go here: http://www.lotus7news.co.uk/MG-TC-MAY.html and scroll down to 23rd May there is a picture of the chassis number stamped on the chassis.Go down a bit further and the exact location is shown. The stamp is very feint and eaily missed.

Re: New TC parts owner - restoring
Thank you very much,
Found one number on the chassis, 4624.
Is there any way to ascertain which engine number it used to belong to, and where can I try look for some history of the car,
Thanks in advance
Juan

Re: New TC parts owner - restoring
History of the car is unlikely; people seem to have little luck tracking down earlier owners.
TC4624 originally came with engine XPAG5210.
