Could someone verify that the threads on the rear axle housing are 1.9/16" diameter 16 tpi 55 degree Whitworth form? It would be very much appreciated.

Re: Rear Axle Housing Threads
Hi James,
I always assumed that this would be a metric thread, 40mm diameter as this is the ID of the bearing. I tried a metric thread gauge 1.5 mm pitch and it would not fit. The diameter of the thread is also less than 40 mm. I then used an imperial thread gauge and the 1/16 thread whitworth form fits perfectly(16 tpi) and the OD is 1 and 9/16". So I agree with your assessment of the thread form and size.
